Hamid Mustafa, a Sudanese trader who admitted to paying Cyril Ramaphosa $580,000 in cash for 20 buffalo at Phala Phala, claims he is willing to testify against the South African president.

The businessman at the centre of the controversy surrounding South African President Cyril Ramaphosa's Phala Phala farm says he has evidence that clears him of any wrongdoing and has confirmed that he is willing to work with South African authorities to resolve the matter, even if it means testifying against or for Ramaphosa.

Mustafa, a Sudanese man married to a South African lady, told Sky News that he paid Cyril Rhamaposa $580,000 in cash for 20 buffalo at the Phala Phala farm in December 2021.

RAMAPHOSA CONSIDERING HIS OPTIONS

According to Storm Simpson of The South African, Parliament will consider the Phala Phala report on Tuesday. If it is passed, President Ramaphosa will be investigated for impeachment.

The panel established prima facie evidence that the President broke his oath of office. "In all the circumstances," the report stated, "we believe that the information given to the Panel, prima facie, demonstrates that the President may be guilty of a significant breach of certain articles of the constitution."

The report will be debated in the National Assembly on Tuesday, December 6, and if it is accepted, Ramaphosa would face an impeachment investigation.

Given his party's representation in Parliament, his chances of impeachment are limited. The ANC controls 230 seats in the National Assembly, accounting for over 60% of the total.

According to Simpson's story, the study addresses Ramaphosa's alleged involvement in the 2020 Phala Phala burglary. The President allegedly concealed thousands of rands in US dollars at his property and launched a private probe when the money was taken.
