Limpho, Chris Hani's widow, urged the Constitutional Court to rethink its decision to award Janusz Walus, the man who killed her husband, parole.

According to reports, Limpho Hani's request for Janusz Walus's release from jail after being found guilty of killing her husband was denied by the Constitutional Court.

The ConCourt denies Limpho Hani's request to revoke Janusz Walus' freedom.


The Department of Justice and Correctional Services said on Wednesday, 7 December, that Walus had been discharged from the hospital where he had been confined after being stabbed by another prisoner on November 29.

CONCOURT ENFORES DECISION REGARDING JANUSZ WALUS

As was previously mentioned, Chris Hani, an anti-apartheid activist and leader of the South African Communist Party (SACP), was killed in 1993, and at the time, Walus was incarcerated for life.

The Polish national was to be freed on parole, the Constitutional Court ruled in November.

Limpho Hani criticised the Apex Court's ruling as being "diabolical," and he pledged to contest it along with the SACP. Walus was serving his term at the Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Facility when the ANC, COSATU, and other unions marched there to voice their dissatisfaction.
